
Rev. Dr. Orlando Jermaine Bego currently serves as the Senior Pastor of The CenterPoint Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. and the owner of Transformative Coaching & Training Center (TC2), which provides relationship and faith coaching to African American Men. He is an ordained minister in the Missionary Baptist denomination, as well as with the American Baptist Church USA, Inc.

About
A native of Washington, DC, Dr. Bego received his formative education from the Massanutten Military Academy and continued matriculation at the University of the District of Columbia in Business Economics. He is a graduate of The Calvary Christian College, having earned a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Pastoral Leadership, a Master of Divinity Degree from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Currently, and a doctorate in Pastoral Professionalism and Spiritual Care from Morehouse School of Religion at The Interdenominational Theological Center. His dissertation entitled “Mental Health and The Black Baptist Church: The Impact of Faith on African American Male Churchgoers’” seeks to identify various therapeutic services offered in religious settings that serve as alternatives to formative therapy interventions.
He is the Co-host of “The Rethink Possibility” Radio Show (CBS News Talk Radio), discussions on American institutions’ impact on young African-American males.
Dr. Bego has worked in government, private and non-profit industries with over 20 years of successfully designing, funding and implementing community engagement programs. He plays an active role in the community, serving in leadership capacities in organizations addressing the collective efforts of religious bodies, with goals of deepening the institutional and congregational capacities of faith traditions in public life.
Dr. is a Certified Program Coordinator and Certified Mentor from The Maryland Mentoring Partnership and a Certified Life Skills Trainer of the ARISE Life Skills Curriculum.
Dr. Bego has provided leadership in developing programs with joint boards, key ministry personnel and staff members by conducting internal organization resource assessments and external needs assessments for programs targeting church and community programming.
Dr. Bego has led various civic and religious institutions such as serving on the Executive Board of local chapters for The NAACP (Washington, DC and Prince George’s County, MD) and The Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He is a Charter Member of The 100 Black Men Prince George’s County Chapter. He has also served on the Board of Directors of The Word Evangelistic Ministries, Inc. and The Maryland Prevention Institute, the Executive Board of both The District of Columbia Baptist Convention and Baptist Convention of DC & Vicinity, where he was appointed to the Social Justice Commission, The National Clergy Caucus, The Nannie Helen Burroughs School Board.
Dr. Bego is the recipient of two prestigious fellowship awards: “The In Support of Excellence Fellowship” in 2016 with American Baptist Church USA, Inc. and “The Strategic Pastoral Excellence Program” sponsored by the Lilly Foundation in 2018.
Dr. Bego is married and the father of four wonderful children.
