Lady Ebony McMorris Bego is an accomplished, award-winning journalist whose media career in television and network radio span 20 years.  This University of South Carolina alumna is passionate about mentoring young adults by teaching community empowerment and media education.

Ebony McMorris Bego is currently serving as the White House news correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks (AURN).  

Previously, Lady Bego served Radio One DC’s News and Community Affairs Director for Majic 102.3, WKYS 93.9, Praise 104.1, WYCB 1340, and WOL 1450. As the Community Affairs Director, she launched several programs including, Get Right Get Fit, a program that provided free fitness activities for local residents to enjoy; Feed our Community, a weekly event providing free groceries to local wards declared food desserts; and Service Saturdays, a combined effort of each station to promote and support local organizations creating high visibility in the communities. 

As News Director she hosted the weekend Community Affairs Show on Praise 104.1, Majic 102.3 and served as the morning reporter for the Tom Joyner Morning Show, providing compelling and informative news segments that kept residents up to date on the DMV area. Ebony worked with Radio One since 2007 as a national reporter for WOL 1450 and in 2013 switched back to her roots in TV.

When TV One premiered News One Now with Roland Martin in 2013, she served as the Morning News Correspondent and a weekly contributor to News One Now with Roland Martin Radio Show. Until November 2013, Ebony spent 7 years at NBC-4 in Washington DC, as Assignment Editor and later a Planning Editor. In addition, her career includes stints as a Researcher for The Chris Matthews Show and working for Congressman James Clyburn. Ebony broke into the media landscape at NBC News in 2001, as a Network News Assistant and writer where she generated compelling story ideas. She went on to field produce and conduct interviews with high-ranking political officials and newsmakers for NBC News, Nightly News, Today Show, and NBC News Channel. 

A native Washingtonian, Ebony always enjoys giving back to the community, mentoring young journalists, and at-risk youth. She is currently developing a scholarship program to help students go to college.

Lady Bego is married and the stepmother of four wonderful children.
